Medical Assistant

MUSC Community Physicians, an entity within the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), provides high-quality healthcare services to patients throughout rural South Carolina.
The Certified Medical Assistant performs a wide range of tasks to support patient-centered care and achieve optimal outcomes. Under the supervision of a physician, the Medical Assistant assists in examination and treatment procedures.
CompensationThe estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
ResponsibilitiesKey Duties:
- Interview patients, take vital signs, and record medical information
- Prepare treatment rooms for examinations and maintain a clean and organized environment
- Assist with therapeutic procedures and make accurate observations of patients
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; completion of an accredited medical assisting program preferred
- Certification through the American Medical Technologist (AMT) or American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent required
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
