Position Overview:
This role is crucial for the advancement of VCU Health's Level III Trauma Designation, focusing on the development and management of specialized accreditation programs.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee VCUHS' specialty-specific accreditation initiatives, including trauma, pediatric trauma, stroke, children's surgery, and cardiac care.
- Ensure compliance with established standards and requirements throughout the entire care continuum.
- Utilize data-driven methodologies to optimize outcomes for the patient population served.

Team Coordination:
- Monitor and coordinate services to foster a cohesive multi-disciplinary team approach, ensuring high-quality patient care.
- Engagement may commence in prehospital settings and extend through acute and post-acute care phases.

Licensure and Certification:
- Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligibility for licensure.
- AHA BLS Certification or equivalent is required for continued employment.

Experience Requirements:
Mandatory:
- A minimum of five (5) years of relevant clinical experience, including at least two (2) years in progressive leadership or supervisory roles.
Preferred:
- Experience within an academic medical center and a Level 1 Trauma Center.

Educational Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing. Candidates must be enrolled in a master’s degree program at the time of application, with completion expected within 36 months of hire.
- Special consideration will be given to applicants in Baccalaureate to Doctoral programs who may require additional time to complete their terminal degree.

Independent Actions:
- Responsible for all daily operational functions of the program, with independent decision-making authority.
- Consultation with the Vice President or Medical Director is sought for significant operational impacts.

Supervisory Duties:
- All personnel within the specific program report to this position, with the possibility of delegating supervisory responsibilities as needed.

Additional Requirements:
- Must maintain frequent visibility across all shifts and weekends to enhance communication and monitor staff performance.

Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Physical demands include lifting, prolonged standing, and repetitive motions.
- Mental acuity is necessary for problem-solving, logical reasoning, and effective communication.

Work Environment:
- The role involves frequent interactions with customers in a dynamic and often noisy environment, requiring adaptability to change.
