Mergers and Acquisitions Regulatory Reporter

Washington, Washington, D.C., United States LexisNexis Full time
Job Overview
"We are seeking a seasoned journalist to join our team as a US Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) Regulatory Reporter. As a key member of our global newsroom, you will be responsible for covering M&A regulatory risk in the US, focusing on Department of Justice (DOJ) and Federal Trade Commission (FTC) reviews of major deals.

In this role, you will lead the coverage of US M&A regulatory stories, breaking exclusive news and providing forward-looking commentary and analysis. You will work closely with our Global Chief Correspondent and Managing Editor to ensure cohesive coverage of international mergers undergoing parallel reviews in multiple jurisdictions.

You will also serve as a point of contact for the outside world, representing MLex's US M&A coverage in the press and among subscribers, including law firms advising on deals, regulators overseeing approvals, investors trading off merging companies' share-price volatility, and the companies themselves at senior levels.

Your key result areas will include increasing the quality and quantity of US M&A breaking news and commentary in M&A, cementing MLex's reputation among hedge funds as the go-to outlet for news and commentary on regulatory M&A situations.

We offer a competitive salary of $80,000 - $110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for professional growth.

To succeed in this role, you will need an ability to break exclusive news day in, day out, pursue hard-to-get information from evasive sources, build and maintain a network of sources in the regulatory community, and train and inspire others through soft-management skills.

If you are a highly motivated and experienced journalist looking for a challenging opportunity, please submit your application.
