Job Title: Mergers & Acquisitions Reporter

About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned journalist to cover Mergers and Acquisitions in the US. As a Mergers and Acquisitions Reporter, you will be responsible for breaking exclusive news and writing forward-looking commentary and analysis on emerging M&A situations.

The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of investigative journalism and experience working with regulatory bodies. You will work closely with our Global Chief Correspondent to lead the coverage of international mergers undergoing parallel reviews in multiple jurisdictions.

Responsibilities:

  • BREAKING EXCLUSIVE NEWS: Investigate and break news on M&A regulatory developments in the US.
  • WELL-RESEARCHED COMMENTARY: Write insightful and forward-looking commentary on emerging M&A situations.
  • COVERAGE COORDINATION: Work with our global teams to ensure joined-up coverage of international mergers undergoing parallel reviews in multiple jurisdictions.
  • EXTERNAL REPRESENTATION: Represent MLex's US M&A coverage in the press and to subscribers among the legal and hedge-fund readership.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in investigative journalism or regulatory reporting.
  • Strong network of sources in the regulatory community.
  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
