The Electrical Operations Leader will play a pivotal role in guiding the electrical team. The ideal candidate will be proactive, demonstrating a commitment to safety, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction. You will champion safety initiatives by encouraging employee engagement, accountability, and ownership. Additionally, you will be responsible for identifying potential hazards and implementing effective risk mitigation strategies while ensuring high-quality work standards and providing mentorship to the team. This role will also involve offering valuable insights to the management team, thereby positively influencing the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the electrical team to maintain a safe and incident-free work environment in a continuous manufacturing setting.
- Supervise and coordinate efforts within the electrical department to enhance processes related to environmental health and safety, compliance, reliability, quality, production, and cost efficiency.
- Support production activities to optimize the manufacturing process and deliver value to the organization.
- Facilitate team development, enhance employee skills, resolve issues, and foster commitment and accountability among team members.
- Promote safety excellence by engaging employees in identifying hazards and implementing appropriate risk management strategies.
- Oversee the quality of electrical work and guide team members to maximize productivity.
- Assist in troubleshooting production challenges.
- Provide safety training and coaching to team members; manage team performance and development.
- Perform data entry and generate reports as needed.
- Supervisory or electrical experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proficient in remote troubleshooting techniques.
- Knowledgeable in electrical and control systems, including PLC, HMI, and Drives.
- Experienced in leading initiatives focused on reliability, predictive and preventive maintenance, and root cause analysis.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems.
- An associate degree or higher in a relevant technical field.
- Previous experience in a wood products manufacturing setting.
- Prior experience as an electrical supervisor.
- Familiarity with power distribution systems, Allen Bradley PLC (Studio 5000), Powerflex drives, HMI, and robotics.
