Role Overview:

The Manufacturing Engineer will provide essential technical guidance and leadership to Vectorsoft's supply chain in executing a comprehensive quality strategy within the supplier network. This role includes the implementation of a structured continuous quality enhancement process and stringent process controls aimed at evaluating and developing both new and existing suppliers globally, with a focus on optimizing Quality, Cost, Logistics, Delivery, and Management (QCLDM) within the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conducting assessments of potential suppliers through on-site audits focused on Quality, Cost, Logistics, Development, and Management (QCLDM).
  • Driving the adoption of Lean methodologies, Best in Quality (BIQ), and Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP).
  • Continuously monitoring supplier capacity and ensuring production readiness through thorough reviews of supplier submissions.
  • Establishing recognition as a subject matter expert in supplier quality.

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in engineering is required.
  • Two to four years of relevant professional experience is essential.
  • Quality Engineering certification is highly regarded.

Technical Proficiencies:

Required:

  • An engineering or manufacturing background with knowledge of manufacturing processes for components and assemblies.
  • Understanding of shop operations and maintenance protocols.
  • Proficiency in APQP and PPAP processes, as well as GD&T and process capability.

Desired:

  • Strong capability in utilizing statistical and problem-solving tools.
  • American Supply Quality (ASQ) quality certification is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Six Sigma methodologies, ideally through Green Belt training or equivalent experience.

Interpersonal Skills:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, along with the potential for leadership to foster collaborative working relationships with colleagues and external partners.

Travel Requirements:

The role necessitates the ability to travel, occasionally on short notice.
