The Residential Support Specialist is tasked with the daily oversight and care of residents during their stay.

Compensation:
Minimum: USD $18.00/Hr.
Maximum: USD $20.08/Hr.
Key Responsibilities:
Additional duties may be assigned as required.
- Utilizes a trauma-informed approach to ensure the physical and emotional safety of residents.
- Supervises residents during various activities to encourage positive social behavior and facilitate behavioral changes. Instructs on rules, etiquette, and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Models and imparts essential life skills to residents, aiding them in developing social skills and navigating their environments.
- Completes shift documentation, including residential case notes, incident reports, and resident inventories; also responsible for documentation requested by clinical or medical personnel such as sleep logs and behavior assessments.
- Observes and collaborates with clinical staff in the treatment of residents, including interaction, limit-setting, and implementation of treatment plans, and participates in clinical group facilitation.
- Responsibilities include escorting residents to various activities, interviews, meetings, meals, recreational activities, educational sessions, and medical appointments, while providing supervision and guidance.
- Maintains age-appropriate rules and expectations, ensuring proper conduct during work, recreation, and educational activities.
- Administers and documents medication as prescribed by a physician or delegating nurse.
- Supervises resident involvement in canine and equine programs, providing direct care for the animals when necessary.
- Works proactively to prevent inappropriate behaviors within the residential environment.
- Provides crisis intervention as necessary.
- Maintains professional boundaries with residents to ensure appropriate working relationships.
- Communicates relevant information internally and externally to support resident treatment.
- Must demonstrate flexibility and availability to work various shifts throughout the week.
- Participates in required training sessions and meetings.
- Conveys the mission and vision of Arrow Child & Family Ministries to staff, clients, and families served.
- Performs all duties in compliance with contractual, state, and federal regulations, as well as Arrow policy and COA standards.
- Regularly reviews client files to familiarize oneself with the specific needs and goals of the residents in their care.
- May be required to operate ACFM vehicles, maintain insurability with the auto insurance provider, and complete Arrow's vehicle training.
Qualifications:
A high school diploma or GED is required, along with a minimum of one (1) year of experience working with children and families, preferably in the child welfare sector. A bachelor's degree is preferred.
