Training Schedule:
Initial training is conducted Monday through Friday for two weeks on day shift.
Role Summary
The Patient Access Representative plays a crucial role in managing pre-registration, registration, and admission processes for the Emergency Department.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough and precise pre-registrations, registrations, and admissions.
- Verify insurance details and comprehend insurance benefits.
- Ensure accuracy in demographic, financial, and advanced directive entries while collecting non-covered fees.
- Adhere to financial protocols while providing empathetic access to services.
- Understand and communicate hospital policies regarding valuables, patient rights, HIPAA compliance, EMTALA, health care proxies, and Medicare notices.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college education preferred.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Experience in medical office settings, hospital billing, or patient registration is advantageous.
- Strong customer service, verbal communication, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- 40 hours per week with third shift responsibilities, including weekend shifts with applicable differentials.
- Initial training is Monday to Friday on day shift for two weeks.
