Job Opportunity

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) is seeking highly qualified candidates for the position of Assistant Clinical Investigators in the Division of Intramural Research (DIR). This is an exceptional opportunity for physicians to gain clinical and translational research experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.

The selected candidates will work closely with senior investigators and participate in cutting-edge research projects. They will have the opportunity to develop their skills in clinical research, work with a diverse team, and contribute to the advancement of medical knowledge.

To be eligible, applicants must have a doctoral degree (M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.) and be board eligible or certified in a subspecialty. They must also qualify for credentialing by the NIH Clinical Center.

The NIH offers a competitive salary and a full civil service package of benefits. The selected candidates will be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE Form 450, to determine if a conflict or an appearance of a conflict exists between their financial interest and their prospective position with the agency.

Participants will receive independent resources and staff and will be mentored by a senior NIAID investigator. The program aims to increase the pool of well-trained clinical investigators who are competitive for clinical tenure-track positions.

Required Qualifications
  • A doctoral degree (M.D. or M.D./Ph.D.)
  • Board eligible or board certified in a subspecialty (or equivalent)
  • Qualify for credentialing by the NIH Clinical Center
