Director of Surgical Services

Sovah Health - Danville is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Surgical Services to lead our Surgical Services Departments. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for directing the activities and resources of the department to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement departmental goals, plans, and standards that align with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements of the organization.
- Direct and evaluate departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
- Direct personnel actions, including staff selection, orientation, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
- Prepare, monitor, and evaluate departmental budgets to ensure compliance with allocated funding.
- Create an environment that encourages professional growth and development.
- Integrate evidence-based practices into operations and clinical protocols.
Sovah Health - Danville is a 250-bed hospital with a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care. Requirements- Graduate of a Program in Nursing required. Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
- Requires flexibility in scheduling and ability to work all shift patterns, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) American Heart Association required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association preferred.
- Current Licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or Compact State required.
