Position Overview

The Breast Imaging Specialist is responsible for executing a range of radiological procedures aimed at diagnosing and treating breast-related conditions in a busy outpatient environment. This role requires the production of high-quality imaging while ensuring a compassionate and supportive interaction with patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform mammography and other related imaging procedures in compliance with established protocols.
  • Ensure adherence to quality control measures as stipulated by the Mammography Quality Standards Act (MQSA) and the FDA.
  • May be required to apply general radiography skills for additional diagnostic imaging as needed.

Qualifications Required

  • Completion of an accredited radiologic technology training program recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • Possession of a valid Washington Radiologic Technologist license upon hire.
  • Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association upon hire.
  • National Registered Technologist - Radiography certification from ARRT upon hire.
  • Achieve National Registered Technologist - Mammography certification within one year of employment.
  • Prior experience in general radiography may be necessary depending on the location.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A minimum of two years of full-time experience in mammography.
