Job Summary

Gulfstream Aerospace Corporation is seeking an experienced Avionics Technician Lead to join our team in Savannah. As a key member of our service center, you will be responsible for planning and coordinating electrical/avionics activities, ensuring timely completion of tasks, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Plan, schedule, and complete tasks on work authorizations to meet master schedule deadlines.
  2. Coordinate electrical and avionics activities to meet aircraft schedules and deadlines, reviewing work to ensure compliance with Site Inspection Procedures Manual, Site Operating Procedures, and FARs.
  3. Supervise and instruct electrical technicians on technical guidance and proper procedures for troubleshooting electrical/avionics systems, routine inspections, and preventive maintenance.
  4. Review daily job charging for all personnel to ensure accuracy of inputs.
  5. Maintain a preventive maintenance program on test equipment, hand tools, and special tools.
  6. Stay current with Aircraft Service Changes (ASC), Customer Bulletins, inspection schedule requirements, vendor information, and other procedures, publications, and general knowledge pertaining to aircraft maintenance and servicing.
  7. Supervise a continuous safety program in the hangar area, including operation of support equipment, aircraft systems, and general housekeeping.
  8. Maintain required logs and records.
  9. Enforce company FOD, tool control, 5-S programs, and all safety regulations.
  10. Adapt to sudden schedule changes and coordinate with other disciplines concerning projects.
Requirements
  1. High School Diploma or GED required; 2 years experience on large/mid-size aircraft; 8 years experience in aircraft avionics/electrical career field, or 2 years of accredited schooling in aviation electronics and 6 years related experience.
  2. FAA A&P license or ability to obtain a repairman certificate within 30 days of start date; FCC license or NCATT certification preferred.
  3. Ability to read and interpret electrical/avionics system drawings and blueprints; demonstrated leadership ability; excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  4. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, implement, and obtain objectives with minimal direction; good understanding of PC, Windows, and mainframe computer applications, including standard computer word processing programs (i.e., Microsoft Word) and typing skills a plus.
  5. Ability to climb ladders and stairs, work in small-space restricted areas, and lift up to 100 pounds; ability to use hand tools and avionics test equipment.
  6. Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
