Job Summary

The Steamboat Ski Resort is seeking a dedicated and flexible Early Childhood Substitute Teacher to join our team. As a substitute teacher, you will support our Early Childhood Teachers and Assistant Teachers in providing a safe, healthy, and secure environment for children aged birth-5 years.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support classroom teachers and assistant teachers in daily child care duties, including feeding, diapers/potty, and naps.
  • Provide a safe and engaging environment for children, promoting their social-emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
  • Perform daily tasks as assigned, including helping in other classrooms as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and maintain confidentiality.
  • Work cooperatively with other teaching professionals to provide a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Provide positive guidance and redirection to children.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, as well as any regulatory requirements.
Requirements
  • Knowledge of child development and a willingness to stay up-to-date with current best practices.
  • Demonstrate an interest in young children and a concern for their proper care and well-being.
  • Flexibility to care for children of all ages, birth-5 years.
  • Ability to maintain professional communication with parents, supervisors, and other staff members.
  • Must successfully complete a background and fingerprint check.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and position children up to 40 pounds.
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time standing, walking, kneeling, talking, and sitting on the floor.
  • Ability to maintain a calm demeanor under stressful situations.
  • Must communicate clearly (written and oral) in English. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Education Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
