Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to join our dynamic Program & Construction Management team in Los Angeles, California. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in managing the day-to-day efforts related to program management of K-14 based projects, including programming, planning, design, procurement, construction, and asset management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and coordinate all facets of the pre-construction, bid and award, construction, and close-out phase of assigned projects.
  • Review pre-construction documents and submit comments to designers as necessary.
  • Plan, organize, and prepare reports to upper management on project status and progress.
  • Coordinate with public agencies and district staff to ensure compliance with off-site work requirements.
  • Manage project budgets and schedules to meet qualitative standards, monitoring budget accuracy and project status.
  • Review contractor construction schedules and submittals, coordinating responses to inquiries and negotiating change orders.
  • Administer provisions of Professional Service Agreements between architects and the district.
  • Coordinate district delivery of related fixtures, furniture, and equipment.
  • Monitor and manage project close-out, including certification with the Division of State Architects and financial close-out.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience in construction and/or project management, with a focus on commercial and public/educational facility construction.
  • Three years of experience with full responsibility for coordinating complex projects with construction values in excess of $10M.
  • Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Design build experience in public/educational facility construction.
  • Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certified projects.
  • Experience with Division of the State Architect (DSA) construction/design processes and OSHA Safety Regulations.
Compensation and Benefits
