Job Summary

Ryder System is seeking a highly skilled Diesel Mechanic Technician to join our team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy duty vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
  • Diagnose and repair complex mechanical and electronic problems
  • Complete detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision
  • Replace defective components as instructed
  • Work unsupervised on most tasks
  • Perform facility maintenance duties
  • Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints
  • Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
  • Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Vocational or technical certification preferred
  • Basic tools required
  • Demonstrated aptitude and experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
  • Three years or more relevant work experience preferred
  • Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
  • All other certification as required by location
