ROLE SUMMARY

The Recreation and Events Supervisor plays a pivotal role in managing the daily operations of the recreation team. This position is tasked with creating and implementing engaging activities that cater to the individual needs of participants, focusing on inter-generational programs, arts, music, modified sports, and technology integration.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in the planning, organization, evaluation, and promotion of departmental programs and services.
  • Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget and maintain accurate records.
  • Design, implement, and assess social, recreational, and educational initiatives.
  • Create a monthly activities calendar and newsletter for staff and participants.
  • Manage and report on the recreation and activity budget on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure timely completion of all necessary documentation.
  • Conduct assessments for new participants.
  • Lead teams in executing projects, activities, and excursions.
  • Oversee all aspects of the activity program, from planning to post-launch evaluation.
  • Recruit, train, coach, and manage staff performance.
  • Ensure the property is well-maintained and guest-ready at all times.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance.

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS

  • High school diploma or currently pursuing a degree.
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in recreation or activities management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This role requires regular standing, use of hands and fingers, reaching, and occasional hiking or outdoor activities. The candidate must be able to lift supplies weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more with assistance. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth vision.
