Emergency Department Advanced Practice Provider

We are seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our team at UofL Health Jewish Hospital and South Hospital Department of Emergency Medicine. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with physicians to assess patient needs, order and interpret test results, diagnose and treat critically ill patients, and make recommendations as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work effectively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.
  • Order and interpret lab tests, imaging studies, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Determine the best course of treatment for patients presenting with emergent and acute symptoms.
  • Perform various medical procedures as needed.
  • Educate patients and family members on health topics and provide guidance on managing chronic conditions.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in emergency medicine is required.
  • Current licensure as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) in Kentucky.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work effectively under pressure and make quick, important clinical decisions.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to navigate electronic medical records.
