About This Role

The IT Manager position at Commerce Bank is a critical role that oversees the Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Server Security program. This individual will be responsible for managing user access to systems, applications, and data, monitoring compliance with policies and regulations, and overseeing the annual access review process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and motivate team members to implement the department strategy and manage department workflow.
  • Perform all necessary management functions, including hiring, evaluations, annual increase allocations, and disciplinary action as required.
  • Communicate decisions, priorities, and relevant information to team members effectively.
  • Support budget management, planning, and expenditure.
  • Plan, implement, and manage identity and access management solutions, including privileged access management solutions.
  • Administer user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Oversee platform security controls, including patch management of the platform environment.
  • Monitor activity logs to identify security incidents.
  • Work with senior leadership to ensure that the program meets the needs of the business and complies with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and maintain training materials related to identity and access management.
  • Manage user identity lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, and account updates.
  • Respond to audit findings and implement remediation measures.
Requirements
  • Strong knowledge of identity and access management concepts, such as SSO, role-based access control, and identity federation.
  • Strong understanding of authentication protocols, such as SAML, OAuth, and Kerberos.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts like firewalls, VPNs, and DNS.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to identity and access management.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and keep up with industry trends.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to apply discretion and sound judgment to efficiently and effectively solve problems.
  • Ability to drive results and balance management of organizational risk and meeting goals of the business.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate team members and foster a positive team environment that gives way to collaboration and unified goals.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company, clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing.

  • Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Teams, and Outlook.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • 3+ years of experience in IAM and platform security experience with AIX/Windows/Linux required.
  • 2+ years management experience required.
  • Experience with identity and access (including privileged access) management tools, such as Active Directory, LDAP, and Azure AD preferred.
  • Experience with patch management tools preferred.
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification preferred.
