Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety and health activities for a complex manufacturing facility. Ensures company compliance with Safety and Health regulations and standards. Promotes and advances the safety and environmental impact of the company. Champions a safety culture and fosters an environment that is safety-minded.

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for safety and health regulatory compliance issues at multiple facilities.
  • Interfaces with plant personnel at all levels, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Communicates Safety and Health programs and policy requirements to plant and facility leadership.
  • Monitors, interprets, and implements regulatory requirements, with occasional assistance from Corporate EHS.
  • Develops and implements training programs in conjunction with the business unit, addressing various safety and health issues.
  • Organizes, maintains, and ensures all safety and health compliance records are organized and maintained in accordance with corporate specifications and regulatory requirements.
  • Develops and oversees emergency evacuation and fire prevention programs for all facilities.
  • Coordinates and manages activities involving Safety and Industrial Hygiene procedures, programs, permits, licenses, approvals, and engineering/project management.
  • Assists facility personnel in completing complex surveys, permit applications, and reports.
Accountabilities
  • Manages Safety and Health programs and initiatives to reduce workplace risk and injury.
  • Leads the Emergency Response Team and Safety Committee.
  • Serves as the primary contact for all Safety and Health-related needs at all facilities.
  • Builds effective relationships with all levels of manufacturing and support departments.
  • Drives continuous improvement activities.
  • Meets deadlines and due dates for complex safety programs and initiatives.
  • Responds to internal requests and leaders regarding Safety and Health matters.
  • Conducts thorough investigations and reports findings to leadership.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in EH&S or a related field.
  • Minimum 7 years of practical experience in Environmental, Health and Safety, with at least 5 years of management experience in a large and complex manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA 1910, OSHA-30 certification, and CPR/First Aid/AED preferred.
  • Experience with radiation equipment, crane operations, health programs, machine guarding, investigations, OSHA, LOTO, Hazardous Communication, and ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 Management Systems.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of employees and accomplish results in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Prior experience achieving measurable and sustainable results in a lean manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, as required.
