Job Overview

Summary: Oversee daily financial operations to ensure that company assets are effectively safeguarded, accurately valued, and efficiently utilized within the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain effective internal controls at the plant level.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timely submission of all financial transactions originating from the production facility.
  • Verify the accuracy and appropriate valuation of all inventory associated with the production site.
  • Act as the primary liaison for JDE at the production facility.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Controller to develop monthly performance reports, quarterly forecasts, and annual budgets.
  • Assist the General Manager in implementing cost control measures and ensure timely reporting of transactions.
  • Monitor the capital expenditure program, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, including approvals and spending, as well as the conversion of individual assets into fixed asset sub-ledger systems.
  • Coordinate inventory cycle counts in collaboration with maintenance and warehouse teams.
  • Manage material master data, including BOMs, Routings, Work Centers, Warehouse Masters, and Item Masters.
  • Prepare comprehensive weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, including but not limited to operational reports, inventory sub-ledgers, SOX controls, inventory movements, and performance reports.
  • Load financial data into Hyperion Planning and HFM.
  • Utilize the DAS report writer tool to extract data from JDE and maintain scheduled reports for all users.
  • Participate in the SPI process by providing relevant inventory and production data as required.
  • Monitor and maintain accurate cost information at both the plant and cost center levels.
  • Serve as the liaison between plant users and Corporate/DSI consultants, managing DSI applications and requesting necessary changes for plant operations.
  • Lead the plant's Longview integration and support efforts.
  • Certify the financial accuracy of plant reporting on a quarterly basis.

Required Competencies:

  • Exhibit a high degree of integrity.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and organizational skills to effectively engage with all management levels.
  • Possess knowledge of finance and accounting principles, including GAAP and internal control/SOX.
  • Apply business management principles, including strategic planning and departmental budgeting.
  • Exhibit strong analytical, problem-solving, and deductive reasoning abilities.
  • Identify and analyze relevant information to make informed judgments.
  • Develop systems and operational methods to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks to maximize efficiency.
  • Understand personnel management principles, including performance management and coaching.
  • Possess strong skills in spreadsheet modeling and word processing (i.e., MS Office).


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field is required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in accounting or financial management is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with inventory management through an ERP system.
  • Knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) principles and reporting.
  • Strong computational skills in Microsoft Excel.


Technical Skills: Proficiency in JDE Accounting software, Microsoft Outlook, Teams, and solid fundamentals in Microsoft Excel and Word are essential.

Physical Requirements: The employee is regularly required to communicate effectively and frequently required to sit. Occasionally, the employee may need to stand, walk, use hands for handling, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment: The employee may be occasionally exposed to varying temperatures, humidity, moving mechanical parts, chemicals, and outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate.
