Job Title: Director of Financial Operations

Hillcrest Family Services is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Financial Operations to join our team. As a critical financial leader, you will be responsible for managing the day-to-day financial operations and shaping long-term financial strategy.

About the Role

The Director of Financial Operations will work closely with senior leadership to ensure financial sustainability and alignment with the organization's mission and goals. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading and developing a high-performing finance team to ensure a collaborative and effective work environment.
  • Preparing and presenting financial statements, forecasts, and reports to stakeholders to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
  • Developing and managing the budgeting process, including financial forecasting and variance analysis.
  • Providing insights and recommendations to ensure financial management and alignment with the organization's strategic goals.
  • Ensuring proper documentation and adherence to accounting policies and principles.
  • Monitoring and managing restricted funds and grants, ensuring compliance with donor requirements and regulations.
  • Preparing financial reports for grantors and ensuring accurate tracking of grant expenditures.
  • Implementing and maintaining robust internal control systems to safeguard assets and ensure compliance with financial policies and procedures.
  • Conducting regular internal audits and reviews to identify and address potential risks.
  • Ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations applicable to non-profits, including tax laws, reporting requirements, and donor restrictions.
  • Coordinating with external auditors and regulatory agencies.
  • Analyzing financial data to support decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Identifying opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies within the finance and accounting functions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Minimum of 7-9 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance roles with a focus on non-profit organizations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a commitment to transparency, and the ability to present complex financial information in a clear and understandable manner.
