Mercy Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Support Technician to join our team. As a Clinical Support Technician, you will play a critical role in providing clinical support in EEG, EKG, Cardiac Stress Lab, Echo, and Cardiac Monitoring.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare patients for and assist neurologists with all technical aspects of testing
- Prepare patients for tests; obtain patients' histories and any contraindications, explain procedures to patients, apply electrodes, perform testing and communicate with neurology department on all aspects of testing, references and medication
- Coordinate and prepare tests for interpretation with the neurologist
- Maintain accurate departmental records and files for testing
- Assist in scheduling, pre-certification, corporate compliance, charge capture, and denial management of procedures
- Participate and assist in the departmental Performance Improvement Plan
- Maintain safety and infection control measures
- Maintain clinical competencies and credentialing
- Serve as a preceptor to new employees as needed
- Transport patients within the hospital as needed
- Current EEG certification by Continuing Medical Education or the ASET Neurodiagnostic Society (preferred)
- Current CPR certification
- Experience with cardiac telemetry (preferred)
