Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Preschool Assistant Educator to enhance our vibrant team at our NAC-accredited childcare and preschool center.

As an Assistant Educator, your role will be pivotal in cultivating a nurturing and educational environment for children aged 3 to 4 years. You will be responsible for building strong connections with families and collaborating with a team of passionate professionals to support the growth and development of our young learners.

Compensation and Benefits

We provide competitive compensation ranging from $13.00 to $18.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications, along with an exceptional benefits package that reflects our commitment to attracting and retaining high-quality educators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Teacher with various duties and responsibilities.
  • Develop and implement a curriculum that is age-appropriate, promoting social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development.
  • Monitor and evaluate children's development and progress, providing guidance and support to families.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy learning environment, complying with all licensing and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with educators and support staff to create and execute daily activities tailored to the unique needs of each child.
  • Communicate effectively with families, offering updates on their child's progress and developmental milestones.
  • Keep accurate records of children's progress, attendance, and developmental achievements.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and participate in staff meetings to stay informed about best practices in early childhood education.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A CDA, AA, or higher degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • At least one year of experience in a licensed childcare program.
  • Experience working with children in the specified age group.
  • Current physical and ability to pass background checks.
  • Basic language, writing, and computer skills for effective communication and documentation.
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practices for school-aged children.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team of educators and support staff.
  • Dependable, compassionate, and capable of creating a warm, nurturing environment for children and families.
  • Must demonstrate a good attendance record and punctuality.
  • Must possess legal authorization to work in the United States.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Ability to kneel, bend, squat, stand, and sit on child-sized furniture for extended periods.
  • Capacity to lift and move children, with a weight limit of up to 50 lbs.
  • Comfortable working in a moderately noisy environment.
  • Preparedness to assist children in emergency situations.
  • Physical ability to remain within arm's reach of children for safety.
  • Participation in safety drills and adherence to guidelines.
  • Ability to endure varying outdoor conditions and temperatures throughout the year.
