Job Title: Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Westerman, Inc. in Tulsa, OK.

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for supporting pre-sale technical and post-sale detailed engineering activities. This includes defining technical solutions for assigned opportunities, developing detailed engineering to support fabrication drawing packages and Bills of Materials, and serving as the lead technical representative for proposals/quotes and projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Evaluate customer-supplied data to extract requirements impacting designs and end products.
  • Engage with external customers, project managers, and commercial teams to discuss scope of supply gaps.
  • Pursue scope change identification and escalate to project managers or commercial leads.
  • Develop P&ID-s from scratch or via redlining of existing documents.
  • Perform equipment sizing calculations using process simulation software and in-house spreadsheets.
  • Review and approve 3D model and drawings for assigned projects.
  • Perform process design calculations for control valves, pressure regulators, and pressure safety valves.
  • Perform ASME pressure vessel code calculations using Codeware COMPRESS.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Petroleum, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar capacity in a manufacturing environment with engineered-to-order products.
  • Knowledge of ASME, API, NFPA, ANSI, and other standards.
  • Experience in applying NFPA requirements for electrical area classification to designs.
  • Experience specifying and designing process control systems.
  • In-depth knowledge of national and international codes and standards for Oil & Gas process equipment design and fabrication.
  • Ability to develop process equipment schemes and layouts.
  • Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • Software proficiency in Microsoft Office and ProMax and Codeware COMPRESS.

Travel by car and airplane to other facilities may be required. A clean driving record is essential for this position.
