Job Overview

We are eager to enhance our program offerings and are in search of dedicated Sign Language Educators to join our team. We are looking for several enthusiastic and skilled Sign Language Educators to instruct American Sign Language (ASL) to school-age children in our partner schools. The ideal candidates will possess a robust background in ASL and a knack for making learning enjoyable and accessible for young learners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and execute a vibrant ASL curriculum tailored for school-age children.
  • Establish a nurturing and interactive learning atmosphere that promotes student engagement.
  • Modify teaching strategies and resources to accommodate diverse learning styles and levels.
  • Employ creative and age-appropriate methods to maintain student interest and motivation.
  • Evaluate and track student progress, offering constructive feedback and additional assistance as necessary.
  • Collaborate with school personnel and fellow educators to ensure a unified educational experience.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) with the capability to teach effectively to children.
  • Prior experience in teaching ASL or working with children is highly valued.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Skill in creating and delivering engaging lesson plans that are suitable for various age groups.
  • Patience, creativity, and a genuine enthusiasm for teaching and engaging with young learners.
  • Relevant certifications or degrees in education, sign language, or a related field are advantageous.
