Job Title: Principal Electrical Engineer - Autonomous Vehicle Systems

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our hardware engineering team at Outrider. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing safe and reliable autonomous vehicle systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and analyze complex electronic systems for autonomous vehicles
  • Develop and implement power management, distribution, and sequencing systems
  • Evaluate new electronic components and their impact on system integration, performance, and safety
  • Interface with vendors for vehicle integration and component support
  • Support deployed systems, both locally and at remote customer sites
  • Debug wire harnesses, electronic assemblies, and installed systems
  • Collaborate with product, software, test, and manufacturing teams to refine electronic architectures
Requirements:
  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience in design of complex electrical systems
  • BS or above in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field
  • Familiarity with autonomous vehicle technologies, including high-voltage power systems, sensors, control systems, and communication networks
  • Proficient with hardware layers of communication protocols (TCP, UDP, CAN, I2C, SPI)
  • Wire harness design and debugging experience
  • Expert soldering, crimping, and electronic prototyping experience
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Networking and operating systems background
  • PCB design (preferably in Altium), assembly, and rework experience
  • Familiarity with mechanical automotive topics
  • Experience developing systems according to functional safety standards for complex electronic systems
  • Firmware design and implementation experience, especially in C
What We Offer:
  • Salary: $150,000 - $180,000
