Job Overview

Position: People Operations Leader

FLSA Status: Exempt

Objective

The People Operations Leader is accountable for the comprehensive management, coordination, and assessment of the human resources department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in formulating, documenting, and managing organizational policies and procedures that align with corporate values and operational requirements.
  • Identify personnel needs and collaborate with hiring managers on recruitment, interviewing, and selection processes.
  • Oversee the applicant tracking system and related processes.
  • Generate and maintain all HR reporting metrics.
  • Manage the onboarding and integration processes for new hires, in collaboration with the HR Administrator and hiring managers.
  • Design, implement, and oversee employee retention initiatives with support from operational teams.
  • Identify opportunities for change initiatives to positively impact business operations and outcomes.
  • Stay informed on industry trends and employment legislation to ensure organizational compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local laws regarding all personnel matters.
  • Facilitate the performance review process and provide guidance to departmental managers.
  • Administer employee benefits programs effectively.
  • Conduct exit interviews to gather insights on employee separations.
  • Consult with legal advisors on personnel issues as necessary or as directed by executive leadership.
  • Collaborate with department heads to support their personnel management responsibilities.
  • Act as the primary representative for the organization's safety program.
  • Recommend, assess, and engage in staff development initiatives.
  • Maintain a human resource information system that fulfills the organization's personnel data requirements.
  • Supervise the human resources team.
  • Engage in committees and special projects, seeking additional responsibilities as needed.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field, along with 7 to 10 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) designation is preferred.
  • Proficient computer and information technology skills.
