Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of laboratory test results, which are essential for patient care and diagnosis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all aspects of pre-analytic workflow, including specimen collection, processing, and verification.
  • Verify orders and troubleshoot any issues that may arise.
  • Collect, receive, and process specimens, ensuring they are correctly labeled and stored.
  • Perform analytical testing, including preventative maintenance on instruments and equipment.
  • Verify and report results, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Amend reports as necessary and respond to inquiries from patients and healthcare providers.
  • Store documents and records according to established protocol.
  • Perform billing and charge capture for tests and services.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Medical Technology, Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Allied Health.
  • General MLS or MT(ASCP) certification or eligible for categorical certification.
