We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our team at Welch's. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing general HR support in a manufacturing facility and will report to the Plant HR Manager.
Key Responsibilities- HR System Administration: Provide support for HR systems, including new hire and termination processing, salary administration, and performance review processes.
- Recruiting and Scheduling: Recruit hourly (union) positions, schedule and conduct interviews, draft offer letters, process background checks, and compile and distribute new hire orientation manuals.
- Employee Scheduling and Timekeeping: Administer hourly employee schedules and manage the employee bid process while working closely with operations teams to ensure accuracy and meet business needs.
- Payroll and Benefits Administration: Assist with payroll and benefits administration, including maintaining employee records and data.
- Employee Engagement and Community Outreach: Champion employee engagement and community outreach initiatives focused on driving workplace of choice initiatives and corporate presence in the community.
- HR Manager Support: Provide support to the HR Manager in employee relations matters and investigations as needed.
- Training and Development: Assist with training support, including sending course invitations, reserving rooms and A/V equipment, compiling participant manuals, and tracking course attendance.
- Reporting and Data Analysis: Prepare monthly reports, including headcount, manufacturing safety statistics, and turnover, and assist with data analysis to support strategic initiatives.
- Education and Experience: 1 year of HR and/or scheduling experience required, preferably in a manufacturing environment, or an entry-level recent graduate with a bachelor's degree in human resources, business, or a related field.
- Skills and Qualifications: Strong computer skills, ability to utilize HR systems, and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Additional Requirements: Prior experience working with an HR team supporting multiple team members and departments is a plus, as is experience working within a unionized environment and supporting union employees.
