Kaiser Permanente is seeking a highly skilled Sterile Processing Technician Level II to join our team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities- Decontaminate, clean, package, sterilize, store, and distribute medical/surgical equipment and supplies in accordance with industry standards and guidelines.
- Fill orders from requesting departments and ensure timely delivery of equipment and supplies.
- Conduct equipment rounds, clean equipment, and validate functionality prior to storage.
- Inventory and restock supplies, and specialty carts, and order medical equipment as needed.
- Operate various equipment in the Sterile Processing Department, including steam sterilizers, plasma sterilizers, and automated endoscope reprocessors.
- Use instrument and equipment tracking systems to document tests and sterilizer records.
- Examine and maintain the integrity of sterile packages.
- Prepare OR case carts according to preference cards on all surgical procedures.
- Promote and ensure excellent customer service to internal and external customers.
- Two years of recent experience as a Sterile Processing Technician in an acute hospital or a Surgical Technician with two years of recent experience working in a Sterile Processing Department in an acute hospital.
- High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED).
- Completion of an accredited Sterile Processing Program including 400 clinical hours or a Surgical Technician program.
- Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution - Technician Certification or Registered Central Service Technician Certificate or Surgical Technologist Certificate.
