Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Trademark Paralegal Specialist to join our team at Addison Group. This role involves managing a variety of trademark-related tasks, working closely with attorneys, and ensuring that all trademark documentation is handled efficiently and accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive U.S. and global trademark searches to identify potential conflicts and ensure brand protection.
- Review and distribute trademark watch notices to the appropriate legal teams to stay informed about trademark-related developments.
- Assist with trademark use investigations and other due diligence activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Support infringement, opposition, and related legal proceedings, including discovery tasks, to protect our clients' intellectual property rights.
- Prepare draft reports, letters, and responses to trademark office actions for attorney review to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Coordinate the preparation and filing of formal assignments and agreements with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to streamline the trademark registration process.
- Manage social media takedown notices and handle non-routine IP-related projects to protect our clients' online presence.
- Prepare cost estimates for trademark filing and maintenance worldwide to ensure budgetary compliance.
- Collaborate with vendors and review invoices to ensure compliance with firm policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in trademark prosecution law, with a strong understanding of domestic and international trademark regulations.
- Proficiency in document preparation, legal research, and meeting critical deadlines to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Intermediate skills in MS Office Suite, including Word, Outlook, and Excel, to efficiently manage and analyze data.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and clients.
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field or equivalent experience, with a strong foundation in intellectual property law and regulations.
