Job Title: Trademark Paralegal

Faegre Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP is seeking a highly skilled Trademark Paralegal to join our Intellectual Property practice group. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with top lawyers and legal professionals to provide exceptional service to our clients.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized Trademark Paralegal to manage US and foreign prosecution filings, conduct and review trademark searches, and prepare trademark status summary reports. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of trademark law and procedures, as well as excellent communication and project management skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage US and foreign prosecution filings, including preparation and submission of applications and responses to office actions.
  • Conduct and review trademark searches to identify potential conflicts and provide recommendations to attorneys.
  • Prepare trademark status summary reports to keep clients informed of the status of their trademark applications.
  • Assist with the preparation and submission of extension requests, statements of use, declarations of use, and incontestability certificates.
  • Prepare and record assignment documentation, including assignments of trademark rights and licenses.
  • Prepare foreign filing cost estimates and compile documentation required for foreign filings.
  • Correspond with foreign associates on filing and prosecuting applications and renewing registrations.
  • Prepare and/or obtain documents for legalization, including apostilles and authentication certificates.
  • Assist with recording trademarks with Customs and Border Protection.
  • Assist with registration, maintenance, and transfer of domain names.
  • Assist with copyright filings, including preparation and submission of applications and responses to office actions.
Requirements:
  • A paralegal certificate and/or 4-year college degree.
  • 2+ years of previous trademark experience preferred.
  • Previous copyright experience preferred.
