Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Yavapai County, AZ. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our buildings, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our employees and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and maintain County facilities, including dusting, mopping, scrubbing, polishing, carpet spotting, and cleaning restrooms, entries, walkways, and glass using appropriate cleaning solutions.
  • Perform equipment care, including cleaning and changing belts and bags.
  • Identify and report repair needs and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies for assigned buildings.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • No experience required.
  • Must possess a valid Arizona driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of general cleaning procedures, proper chemical usage, and procedures, materials, and operation of equipment used in custodial work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, and to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other agencies, and the public.
Work Environment

The work environment is associated with various indoor and outdoor locations, in all weather conditions, and includes exposure to loud noise, blood-borne pathogens, dust, fumes, mist, and chemicals.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to bend or stoop repeatedly or continually over time; move, lift, push, pull a variety of heavy objects.
  • Sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen; hearing and speech ability to communicate effectively in-person and telephonically.
