Mechanic Specialist for Vehicle Maintenance and Repair

Job Summary:

Yavapai County, AZ is seeking a skilled Mechanic Specialist to join our team. As a Mechanic Specialist, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance on trucks and equipment, as well as diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues. This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a competitive salary range of $20.60 - $26.26 hourly.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and brake pad replacements.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with vehicles and equipment, including engines, transmissions, and electrical systems.
  • Test drive vehicles and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition and to identify any potential issues.
  • Maintain accurate records of work performed, including hours worked and repairs made.
  • Run reports to identify pending maintenance tasks and repair history.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum one year of experience in vehicle maintenance and repair.
  • Valid Arizona Class A Commercial Driver's License with tanker endorsement required within six months of employment.

Work Environment:

The work environment is a workshop setting, with exposure to loud noise, machinery, dust, fumes, and chemicals. The ideal candidate will be able to sit or stand for extended periods, have sufficient vision to read printed materials and a computer screen, and be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
