This position is tasked with shaping the strategic direction for the standardization of billing and collections practices within the organization. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with operational teams to facilitate an enterprise-wide integration of Salesforce and NetSuite systems, while driving process enhancements. This is a hands-on managerial role that demands visibility and active participation in achieving team objectives.
The ideal candidate will be results-driven and possess a strong process-oriented mindset, capable of scaling and leading a top-tier team. This includes exceptional leadership skills, proven ability to partner with various business units, and outstanding communication capabilities to effectively engage with diverse audiences both within and outside the finance department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the integration of billing and collections systems, collaborating with consultants and internal stakeholders to evaluate current systems and processes, document business requirements, manage implementation timelines, and ensure effective communication and coordination of needs and deliverables.
- Oversee the complete billing process, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in all billing activities.
- Utilize Salesforce and NetSuite for managing customer accounts, invoicing, and financial reporting, ensuring seamless integration and functionality between these platforms.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) for the billing and collections teams, ensuring delivery and continuous improvement.
- Apply knowledge of revenue recognition principles under ASC 606 to ensure billing and collection processes align with accounting standards.
- Reconcile customer accounts and payments for accuracy and participate in the month-end closing process.
- Promptly and professionally address and resolve billing inquiries and disputes from customers.
- Manage escalations and act as a player-coach as necessary.
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements and implement best practices to improve billing workflows, reduce errors, and increase efficiency.
- Coach, train, and develop team members while managing project workflows and prioritization to ensure timely execution and completion.
- Maintain a positive attitude towards change with a keen attention to detail.
- Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external clients.
- Communicate effectively with operations to inform and educate on processes, systems, and accounting policies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in billing and collections.
- Experience managing international billing and collections operations across North and Latin America, Europe, and Asia.
- Proficiency in NetSuite (required) and Salesforce (preferred).
- Demonstrated experience in team leadership.
- Strong work ethic, urgency, accountability, and integrity.
- Detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and meet tight deadlines.
