About the Role:

Fortinet is seeking a Senior Application Security Specialist to become a vital member of our Corporate Information Security team. This role is highly technical and involves conducting thorough security assessments on various Fortinet applications, delivering security training to our engineering teams, and managing vulnerabilities reported from external sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive security evaluations on Fortinet applications.
  • Provide security education and guidance to engineering personnel.
  • Address and resolve externally reported security vulnerabilities.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Information Security Research or Engineering.
  • At least 3 years of experience in manual source code audits to identify security vulnerabilities, with proficiency in programming languages such as Java, .NET, Python, or JavaScript frameworks.
  • Deep understanding of OWASP TOP 10 vulnerabilities.
  • Strong knowledge of common API security threats.
  • Familiarity with Cloud-Native application architectures, microservices, containerization technologies, and secure deployment practices.
  • Proven track record in application penetration testing.
  • Experience in conducting security code reviews.
  • Hands-on experience with application security testing tools and methodologies (DAST, SAST, IAST, SCA).
  • Solid foundation in computer and network security principles, including authentication, authorization, security protocols, and cryptography.
  • Understanding of web security standards such as CSP, SOP, CORS, and emerging web security technologies.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and DevSecOps practices.
  • Experience in defining security architecture patterns and standards within large organizations.
  • Familiarity with cloud security solutions and cloud service providers, particularly regarding application security.
  • Proficiency with web proxies like Burp Suite, OWASP ZAP, or Fiddler.
  • Understanding of OAuth and JWT implementations.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and/or Application Security Posture Management (ASPM) tools is advantageous.
  • Possession of certifications such as OSWE, OSCP, GWEB, GPEN, or similar is a plus.
  • Experience in Mobile Application Penetration Testing is also a plus.
