Orlando Health is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing, treating, and caring for patients with breathing disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough assessments of patients with breathing disorders, including the use of ventilators, pulmonary diagnostics, and other equipment.
- Maintain accurate and precise patient records, ensuring timely and effective communication with the healthcare team.
- Develop and implement individualized care plans, blending technical expertise with patient care management skills.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure seamless patient care, communicating openly and effectively to address patient needs.
- Perform quality control and maintenance of arterial blood gas analyzers, specimen collection, and analysis of blood for gas transport and acid/base determinations.
- Meet the requirements for reasonably regular, punctual attendance, adhering to Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
- Associate degree from an approved Respiratory Care program.
- Certified by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
- Licensed by the State of Florida (Department of Health) - renewed bi-annually.
- Maintains current BLS/HealthCare Provider certification.
- Advanced Life Support as appropriate per unit and site.
- Preferred: Maintains active membership in the American Association for Respiratory Care (AARC) and Florida Association for Respiratory Care (FSRC).
