Inova Mount Vernon Hospital is currently seeking a Registered Dietitian to contribute to our nutritional support initiatives. This is a part-time position requiring 16 hours per week. We offer competitive compensation commensurate with experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications:
  • Newly certified Registered Dietitians must possess a master's degree.
  • Completion of a Dietetic Internship or equivalent experience.
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) credential.
  • Basic Life Support certification through AHA within three months of hire.
  • Preferred: Experience in Malnutrition, Nutrition Support, and Basic Nutrition Assessment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • The Registered Dietitian delivers safe and therapeutic nutritional care systematically and comprehensively.
  • Provides clinical services and serves as a resource for physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal nutritional care for patients.
  • Conducts thorough assessments by analyzing diverse and sometimes conflicting data to synthesize their interrelationships.
  • Develops individualized nutrition care plans based on assessment findings and interprets trends within patient populations to achieve best practices.
  • Proactively addresses nutritional intervention challenges, monitors patient responses to nutrition therapy, and adjusts care standards as necessary.
  • Coordinates nutrition care plans with physicians and other healthcare providers, integrating nutrition strategies into the overall patient care plan.
  • Engages with healthcare team members, patients, and families to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to enhance professional knowledge and apply that knowledge to nutrition care plans.
  • Educates physicians, residents, nurses, and other healthcare providers to optimize nutrition therapy results.
  • Incorporates research findings into nutrition practice standards, develops and revises patient education programs, and contributes to the creation and update of educational materials.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
