Compensation:

Starting salary is $81,120 per year.

Position Overview:

At Cherry Blossom Pace, our Licensed Nutrition Specialists are essential in delivering nutritional care and education to PACE Participants. Responsibilities include evaluating participants' nutritional status, formulating and executing nutritional care plans, and assessing dietary needs. You will recommend nutritional interventions and monitor participants' responses to nutritional care. Effective communication of nutritional information to physicians and other healthcare professionals is vital.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct nutritional assessments in accordance with established standards.
  • Provide nutrition education to participants and caregivers as directed by physicians and in line with ADA standards.
  • Deliver nutritional education to staff and the broader community.
  • Collaborate with team members to facilitate participant education.
  • Perform initial and ongoing assessments.
  • Communicate changes in participant status to team members.
  • Contribute to the development of the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) Plan of Care.
  • Assist in coordinating 24-hour care delivery.
  • Complete all necessary documentation in the electronic medical records system.
  • Engage in and support Quality Improvement initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • In-depth knowledge of clinical dietetics is essential.
  • Ability to interact tactfully and patiently with participants, families, visitors, and healthcare personnel.
  • Capable of teaching, analytical thinking, and relating to geriatric patients.
  • Effective communication with medical staff, nursing personnel, and other department supervisors.
  • Ability to make independent decisions when necessary.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to follow through on assigned tasks.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Education and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree from an ADA-accredited institution with a major in nutrition. Must be ADA registered.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with the elderly or willingness to undergo extensive training.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification (Training Provided).
Additional Requirements:
  • Valid State driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Successful completion of background check, physical examination, drug screening, and TB screening.
Physical Demands:
  • Work is performed within the facility across participant and office areas.
  • Involves sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during working hours.
  • Subject to frequent interruptions.
  • Must remain vigilant for participant safety.
  • May require lifting, carrying, and supporting participants.
  • Occasional overnight travel may be necessary for training programs.
