Key Responsibilities:
Essential Duties:
- Escort patients to and from examination rooms and treatment areas.
- Document patient information prior to physician consultations, including vital signs and medical history.
- Gather necessary patient records as required for treatment.
- Prepare and maintain examination and treatment rooms, ensuring they are stocked and organized.
- Assist physicians during examinations and procedures as needed.
- Administer injections as directed by healthcare professionals.
- Maintain cleanliness and disinfection protocols in clinical areas.
- Handle patient inquiries and facilitate communication with healthcare providers.
- Perform various administrative tasks, including filing and chart preparation.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is preferred.
- A minimum of five years of experience in a medical assistant or nursing assistant role.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within three months of hire.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant is strongly preferred.
Physical Requirements:
The physical demands of this position include the ability to handle and lift patients, manual dexterity, and coordination. The role requires standing and walking for extended periods and occasionally lifting items weighing up to 40 pounds.
Work Environment:
This position may expose the employee to communicable diseases and other conditions typical of an oncology clinic setting. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
