Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Redmond, Washington. As a Staff Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and implementing lifesaving medical devices ensuring compliance with industry standards.

About the Role

You will need to live within commuting distance of our Redmond, Washington office. You will need to be in the office on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday and can work from home on Thursday and Friday.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and implement medical devices, including plastic parts, electronics packaging, electro-mechanical systems, wire harnesses, patient interfacing accessories, and power systems.
  • Develop design concepts, conduct feasibility studies, build and test prototypes, and analyze designs.
  • Independently research, design, develop, modify, and verify components, modules, and sub-systems for medical devices that can endure drop, impact, shock, vibration, and exposure to water.
  • Translate user needs into design specifications and produce complex system-level designs.
  • Conduct advanced prototyping and testing and analyze and correct complex product design issues.
  • Lead creation and refinement of engineering documentation, such as the Design History file.
  • Work cooperatively with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, Marketing, and Project Management to ensure project success.
  • Identify and support improvements to procedures, policies, processes, systems, and technology.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical or related discipline.
  • Minimum 4 years of mechanical engineering design work experience.
  • Experience in Creo Modeling and Ansys FEA software (preferred).
  • Ability to utilize Solid Modeling and CAE tools to optimize design.

Compensation and Benefits

The estimated salary range for this position is $98,300 - $161,100 USD per year, plus bonus eligible and benefits package, which includes:
