Technicians will utilize various hand and power tools for maintenance tasks and will record their observations using a company-provided laptop. The position offers competitive hourly compensation along with benefits including a company vehicle, fuel card, mobile phone, laptop, and uniforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the gas collection system to ensure it meets performance benchmarks through efficient and cost-effective maintenance operations.
  • Conduct monthly assessments of the wellfield, which includes measuring liquid levels in gas extraction wells and monitoring perimeter probes for surface emissions.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and servicing pneumatic pumps, welding HDPE pipes, managing blower/flare operations, and maintaining the condensate management system.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety regulations by participating in regular safety meetings and maintaining accurate operational records. Report field conditions and test results to the supervisor and, when necessary, to the client.

Qualifications:

  • No prior experience is necessary, although relevant experience in mechanical, construction, environmental, or solid waste fields is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with mechanical or construction principles is preferred.
  • Must be able to meet physical demands including driving (pick-up truck), conducting property inspections, lifting and carrying equipment (up to 50 lbs. unassisted), hand digging, climbing ladders, and operating electric and hand tools in various weather conditions.

Work Environment/Shift:

  • This position requires on-site work at a landfill operating 24/7.
  • Must be prepared to work outdoors for extended periods, typically 8+ hours.
  • Shift Schedule: After training, shifts will rotate every few months, with the majority of time spent on the first shift.
    • 1st shift: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
    • 2nd shift: Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
    • 3rd shift: Monday to Friday, 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM
  • PPE Requirement: Steel-toed boots are mandatory.
