Technology Services Specialist

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a skilled Technology Services Technician to join our team. As a key member of our IT department, you will provide administrative and executive support, interface with all levels of management, and install, repair, and maintain hospital IT hardware and software.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, collaborating with fellow technicians, help desk personnel, and end users to resolve technical issues and complete tasks assigned. You will also participate in IT projects, provide knowledge transfer and status updates, and offer technical guidance and documentation to coworkers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess clinic and client technical requirements and needs for projects and go-live events.
- Diagnose issues with operating systems, security configurations, and hardware configurations.
- Work with fellow technicians, help desk personnel, and end users to resolve issues and complete tasks assigned.
- Participate in IT projects and provide knowledge transfer and status updates to team and management.
- Provide technical guidance and documentation to coworkers.
- Provide insight and testing on new hardware and software that the organization may use in the future.
- Operate state vehicles to support multiple locations/offices.
Requirements:
- Associate's degree in computer-related field or at least 3 years of full-time experience in IT support.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Clean valid NYS driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer-related field.
- Project management experience.
- Previous experience working in a healthcare facility.
- Advanced IT certifications such as MCITP, MCSA, and MCSE.
What We Offer:
- A competitive salary range of $53,040 - $64,657 per year.
- Annual supplemental pay for UUP, CSEA, and PEF full-time positions.
