We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Safety and Security Manager to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and oversight of safety and security operations across all campuses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Campus Safety and Security Operations
    • Provide direct oversight of campus safety and security operations, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
    • Supervise security staff, providing training and guidance on college protocols, policies, and procedures.
    • Develop and implement safety plans, security plans, and video monitoring systems for each campus.
    • Conduct investigations and report incidents, developing action plans to prevent future occurrences.
  • Campus Safety and Security Planning
    • Design and implement safety and security programs, evaluating existing programs and making recommendations for improvement.
    • Collaborate with the Director of Human Resources and the Safety Committee to implement changes and improvements.
  • Reporting and Emergency Management
    • Handle safety and security issues, conducting investigations and reporting incidents.
    • Develop and implement emergency management plans, representing the college on emergency management committees.
    • Establish relationships with local law enforcement, fire, and emergency agencies.
  • Safety and Security Training
    • Develop and administer safety and security training programs, educating faculty, staff, and students on safety protocols and procedures.
Requirements
  • A high school diploma and experience in law enforcement or a related field.
  • A bachelor's degree in criminal justice or a related field and two years of work experience in law enforcement, or an associate's degree and four years of work experience in law enforcement.
  • Certification by the Law Enforcement Training Council in accordance with the Code of Laws of South Carolina 1976.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of proper law enforcement officer behavior and role.
  • Knowledge of modern law enforcement techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to effectively supervise subordinates and represent the agency in dealings with the public.
