Job Summary

This position is responsible for overseeing all aspects of The Salvation Army Family Services at the Kahului Corps and serving as the administrative assistant to the Corps Officers. The successful candidate will be responsible for human resource duties for The Salvation Army Maui County.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and direct all aspects of the Family Service office of the Kahului Corps
  • Schedule and interview clients to determine needs and eligibility for social service programs related to Family Services
  • Oversee the food pantry, schedule food distribution days and times, and lead the distribution of food and commodities as scheduled
  • Assist the Corps officers with Christmas Social Services programs, including the Angel Tree program, food and toy drives, Holiday drive distribution, and Holiday community meals
  • Work with families to identify youth who may be eligible to attend TSA summer camps in Oahu
  • Oversee, manage, and implement the Back-to-School program, including the purchase and/or acquisition of supplies through GIK donation
  • Manage and upkeep employee payroll, including time exception reports and leave of absence forms
  • Maintain all employee and volunteer files, process, and submit Human Resource documents according to TSA policy in a timely manner
  • Be knowledgeable with the TSA Employee Handbook guidelines and policies, including how it relates to Hawaii and Federal labor laws
  • Help ensure employees and/or volunteers who drive TSA vehicles are current with required annual Summit training and MVR checks
Requirements
  • AA degree in social services or high school graduate with minimum 2 years' experience in the field of social service or similar preferred
  • Hold a valid driver's license in good standing
  • Must be a self-starter with the ability to work and accomplish duties with minimal supervision
