Role Overview
In this technical position, you will lead the automation development and evaluation of next-generation wireless SoC products. Your responsibilities will include establishing the bring-up infrastructure central to a silicon design team, along with the characterization, regression, and reporting frameworks.
- Design and implement a Python-based bring-up, integration, and debugging environment.
- Develop and execute a Python-based characterization, regression, and reporting framework.
- Implement calibration algorithms for wireless transceivers within the automation infrastructure.
- Bring up and validate algorithms on actual silicon in collaboration with PHY, MAC, RFIC, and digital circuit designers.
- Create and execute test plans; gather and analyze test results; identify, root-cause, and resolve issues.
Minimum Qualifications
- Proven experience as an individual technical contributor in the integration, bring-up, and commercialization of wireless communication systems.
- Solid understanding of communication theory and radio calibration algorithms (e.g., power control and RF impairment mitigation).
- Familiarity with laboratory equipment operation (spectrum analyzers, signal generators, network analyzers, power meters).
- Experience in developing test automation, including equipment drivers, debugging tools, automation scripts, database interfaces, and reporting tools.
- Knowledge of existing wireless communication protocols: LTE/WCDMA/GSM, 802.11a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be, 802.11ad/ay, or Bluetooth/BLE.
- Extensive experience with Python, Matlab, Shell scripting, and/or C/C++.
- Experience in developing automation infrastructure (traceability, repeatability) and related tools (GIT, CI, database, reporting tools).
Preferred Qualifications
Education & Experience: A minimum of a Bachelor's degree with 3 years of relevant experience.
Compensation & Benefits:
At Apple, base pay is just one part of our comprehensive compensation package, which is determined within a specified range. This allows for growth as you develop in your role. The base pay range for this position is between $135,400 and $250,600, depending on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in Apple’s discretionary employee stock programs, including restricted stock unit awards and stock purchase plans at a discount. Additional benefits include comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, discounts on products and services, and reimbursement for certain educational expenses related to career advancement.
