Job Summary

Birch Family Services is seeking a highly skilled Speech Therapist to join our team at the East Flatbush Early Childhood Center in Brooklyn, NY. As a Speech Therapist, you will play a critical role in evaluating and developing therapy programs for preschoolers with communication and feeding/swallowing skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Evaluate and screen preschoolers' communication and feeding/swallowing skills in accordance with ASHA guidelines.
  • Develop and implement individualized therapy programs based on children's needs and in accordance with school philosophy.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment teams, including formal and informal meetings, consultations, and IEP documentation.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation, including evaluation and screening reports, daily log notes, and monthly or bi-monthly notes.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff members to evaluate the effectiveness of programs in the classroom.
  • Function as a child advocate and maintain effective interpersonal relationships with team members, parents, and outside agencies.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Speech Pathology.
  • Licensure/certification in Speech Pathology.
  • NYS Teacher of Speech and Hearing Handicapped Certification (TSHH/TSSLD).
  • Pediatric experience preferred.
