The Fraud Operations Issues Manager serves as a pivotal leader within the organization, adeptly navigating the evolving landscape of fraud management. The individual will be instrumental in fostering communication across various levels of the organization, particularly with senior stakeholders, to drive impactful business results.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with management to oversee governance and facilitate the execution of the Manager Control Assessment (MCA), ensuring compliance with risk and control standards.
  • Ensure the integrity and thoroughness of the Control Framework, encompassing Risk Control Policy, Control Standards, and Issue Management Policies.
  • Lead efforts to identify root causes of issues, partnering with control and process owners to recommend comprehensive corrective actions.
  • Guide teams in implementing the Lessons Learned Policy, promoting continuous improvement across business units to mitigate future risks.
  • Support management in reviewing the design and effectiveness of controls aimed at mitigating operational and compliance risks.
  • Direct teams to ensure timely and accurate completion of MCA processes, both prior to and following execution.
  • Assist in managing operational and compliance risk in alignment with established policies and procedures.
  • Facilitate resource allocation to identify and manage risk exposures across various categories.
  • Monitor adherence to Risk Appetite and assess exposures accordingly.
  • Take ownership of documenting and responding to operational and compliance risk events.
  • Ensure robust governance and training mechanisms are in place to support risk management initiatives.
  • Evaluate risks associated with new activities and business changes, ensuring proper controls are established.
  • Contribute to operational risk scenario analysis and stress testing for capital requirements.
  • Lead risk and control assessments for various programs, ensuring adequate expertise is available for effective risk management.
  • Promote accountability for risk and control responsibilities within functional units.
  • Assist in shaping standards and procedures that align with enterprise requirements for sound risk management.
  • Utilize knowledge of business operations to implement effective control measures throughout the organization.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with third-party risk models.
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both in writing and verbally.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Perl, Python, Matlab, or R, with database administration experience being advantageous.

Education:

A Bachelor's degree is required; a Master's degree is preferred.

This role involves managing a team of Issue Managers, ensuring they effectively navigate and address issues while collaborating with various stakeholders across Fraud Operations and Technology.
