Front Office Associate Job Description

Radiology Services is seeking a skilled Front Office Associate to provide exceptional patient care and support to our team.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Registration: Greet and check-in patients, register demographic information, and process payment plans and copays.
  • Phone Handling: Answer phones and handle calls in an efficient and friendly manner, fielding calls appropriately for center associates.
  • Liaison: Act as a liaison between technologists and patients, relaying messages regarding scanner status and other clinic information.
  • Office Maintenance: Maintain the front office lobby area, straighten magazines, organize coffee supplies, and assist with general office clean up.
  • Supply Management: Order office supplies as needed and maintain a supply of patient information sheets.
  • Electronic Interfaces: Push imaging via electronic interfaces and complete confirmation calls, providing preparation instructions to patients.
  • Faxing: Fax reports, billing information, and medical release forms as requested.
Insurance and Scheduling:
  • Insurance Verification: Verify patient insurance and pre-certify exams with the patient's insurance company.
  • Authorization: Obtain insurance authorization and use knowledge of insurance carriers and procedures to obtain waivers if needed.
  • Release of Information: Handle release of information requests for patients, referring offices, other medical facilities, attorneys, and insurance companies.
  • Scheduling: Arrange transportation, interpreters, and hotel accommodations for patients when necessary, enter and submit patient exam orders, and verify orders match exam schedules.
Requirements:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of customer service experience.
  • Skills: Proficient with using computer systems and typing, working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
