This role will be responsible for contributing to the Foundation's community leadership role by overseeing the Grants Manager and Program Officer and related competitive grantmaking activities.

The estimated salary for this position is $90,000 - $110,000 per year, based on industry standards and the location. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in business, communications, or a related field and at least 7 years of experience in the nonprofit sector with specific experience in effectively working and building relationships with diverse constituents and managing projects and competing priorities.

The successful candidate will possess superior verbal and written communications skills, ability to research and analyze large volumes of data, strong organizational and time-management skills, and a deep interest in and commitment to the work of community foundations. Additionally, they will have experience in project design and/or portfolio management, evaluation, policy, and communications efforts, and be able to assess the leadership, track record, and capacity of social sector organizations and collaboratives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Competitive Grantmaking: Oversee the Grants Manager and Program Officer in working with grant seekers to understand Foundation priorities and interests, provide direction regarding the grant application process, and promote resources to help strengthen the nonprofit business model.
  • Research and Data: Collect and present community data gleaned from grant proposals concisely and effectively, maintain knowledge of current trends and community resources, and monitor the performance of competitive grants.
  • Sharing of Community Knowledge: Convene grantees and others in the field to advance collective action, networking, and learning opportunities for partners, and work with Advancement in the pursuit of connecting and involving the community-at-large.
  • Community Initiatives: Support the VP of Grants and Community Initiatives in the development of community-wide opportunities and strategies, build positive relationships within the community, and represent the Foundation at community forums and events.
